Cleansing Solution: Please mix up and place in a Tupperware container: 12 oz of water + 3 capfuls of Cetaphil cleanser + 2 caps of Vinegar
Tonight, only apply Aquaphor to the treated area.
Day 1-7 Clean twice daily with Cleansing Solution. Dip a 4x4 soft, non-woven gauze in the cleansing solution and gently clean the treated area. Apply Aquaphor to treated areas.Skin needs to be moist at all times; if it is left dry, it can crack and delay healing.
Day 7-14 Discontinue the Cleansing Solution. Cleanse twice daily with Cetaphil cleanser. Start moisturizing with Cetaphil cream. Discontinue the Aquaphor. Apply Elta MD SPF when outdoors or near windows. If you develop a foul odour or pustules on the treated area, apply Viaderm kc to those areas instead of Aquaphor am + pm until resolved. Please send your provider pictures daily and a description of your symptoms.
Tips to Remember:- Your skin is going to hurt for the next 48 hours.
- Keep skin clean and moist with ointment
- Don’t over cleanse
- More ointment isn’t necessarily better
- Don’t scrub the skin
- Continue routine until reepithelialization is complete
